![]() ![]() ![]() This website is the official website of SUNSHINE FOOTBALL CLUB. It has been designed by Mike Tirant and sponsored by Sunshine Cars. The Sunshine Sports Club was founded in 1993 by a group of ordinary people coming from different backgrounds. Below is a photo of some of these people at a gathering on the beach in 1993. Before competing in the different national competition we had to gather some talented young players from around the island and some qualified persons to work with the team. We had as manager Mr. Carl Payet and Mr. Ulric Mathiot as coach. Later during the year the team played some friendly matches with the other team founded during the same year. 1994 was a good year for the club as the team occupied a third place in the classification league. In 1995 after only two years of existence the club won its first Division One League title. In 1996 the club made its first ever debut in an international competition as it represented Seychelles in the African Champions League Competition. We managed a home win but failed to proceed beyond the preliminary round as we lost on aggregate by one goal to the more experienced Ethiopian team St George F.C. From its foundation the team has kept on playing in the top division. ![]() ![]() See a larger version of this photo Reach us by:
